NUMBERED AND LIMITED EDITION To celebrate the festival's first decade in Spain, ROTOTOM RECORDS is releasing its first album, ROTOTOM SUNSPLASH: LIVE FROM BENICÀSSIM , a compilation of 27 exceptional live performances from some of the most important artists to have graced the festival's Main Stage. These 27 artists hail from Jamaica, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, the USA, New Zealand, and beyond, highlighting the festival's international character. This compilation, lasting over two hours, captures some of the festival's most extraordinary musical moments, recorded between 2012 and 2019. It is available as a triple LP , a numbered edition limited to 1500 copies and pressed on red, green, and yellow vinyl, and as a double CD edition.
Both formats come with an extensive booklet that includes live photographs and a text in Spanish and English written by the well-known journalist David Katz, author of People Funny Boy: The Genius of Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Solid Foundation: An Oral History of Reggae , who also made the selection of the songs. The journey begins with the icons of roots reggae whose presence on the Main Stage has always been fundamental: Steel Pulse, Misty in Roots, Horace Andy, Max Romeo, Pablo Moses, Third World, Inner Circle, Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Chronixx …, continues with some of the most powerful names of the dancehall era, including Beres Hammond, Anthony B, Junior Kelly, Turbulence or Tanya Stephens , then moves on to some of the most recognized artists of the reggae revival , such as Kabaka Pyramid, Protoje, Romain Virgo, Jah 9 or Alborosie , and ends with big names from the international sphere such as Fat Freddy's Drop, Groundation, Mellow Mood, Emeterians, Dub Inc, Macaco or Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.
